Who am I?
Kenzietech was formed by one person… me! My name is Steven McKenzie. I have over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, ranging in areas from software development, to systems / IT administration, consulting, etc. Having earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, I am well experienced in all areas of technology, and strive to provide support and services to those who need it, without hiding behind buzzwords, confusing terminology, and other tactics used by large “big box” businesses who do what they can to separate you from your hard-earned money.
Who / What is Kenzietech?
Kenzietech is a culimination over years of experience in the industry, servicing residential customers with their various computer and other IT-related needs and services. Prior to college, I had been providing services throughout my early years, ranging from early website development to computer repairs, networking, early online video streaming, etc.
During college, I quickly realized the large gap between IT support for business customers, and that for residential customers. I discovered that the support for residential customers was practically non-existent, and usually required the customer to take their hardware or software issues to larger companies who specialized in large-scale, business-grade service. This resulted in expensive repairs and fees for residential users, which frequently resulted in unneeded equipment purchases (ex., new PCs), due to the high costs of repair from these big businesses, and their desire to increase their profits even further by “consulting” the purchase of new equipment. A buddy and I then carried on a services business through college in the local Northeast Nebraska area, providing these services and support.
After college, our business dissolved as we began full-time jobs with other companies, and slowly let our business of IT support / consultation fade away. However, the business was always in the back of my mind, and as a result, Kenzietech was formed from the ashes, to help carry on the legacy of past services.
Centered in Omaha, NE, we serve Omaha, Lincoln, and the surrounding communities. We can also provide remote services using a wide range of online tools and systems to help remotely diagnose, and fix your computer problems as well.
Why Kenzietech?
First and foremost, Kenzietech was built to support the residential and small-business customer; the customer who doesn’t want to, and shouldn’t, spend a small fortune for IT support and consulting. Kenzietech operates on a personal level. I want to get to know you, and your IT problem. As a one-man shop, I will see your problem or question through from beginning to end. No more long lines, no more extensive wait times for repairs or response. It was, and always has been, my goal to provide trustworthy, honest support and service through the business. Clear, constant communication is my goal.
Everyone’s had those experiences when they’ve called a professional service, spent a large amount of money for some sort of service or equipment, and once the transaction was over, were left wondering if they got a good deal, or got taken advantage of. Kenzietech strives to ensure that doesn’t happen. Bills are detailed and itemized (no hidden costs rolled up in other services or fees!), costs are clear up front, and communication is well established if things change during the process.
Kenzietech strives to be a business that you can trust. I’ve provided a number of computer repairs, purchase recommendations, and tech setups for a wide range of people, including the very elderly. Quite literally, I strive to make Kenzietech a business that you can trust your grandparents with; one that won’t try to take advantage of any situation to gain another dollar.
